At the CCU, we want people to attend our meetings and participate in our activites regardless of whether they are a formal member or not. We understand that such a committment may be too much for some to responsibly handle and so are happy to accommodate.

A formal member is simply someone who aligns with our aims, values and vision as a club and has agreed to partner with us as we seek to carry out our aims on campus.

The aims and doctrinal basis of the Christian Union are below...

The aims of the Curtin Christian Union are
(a) To further interdenominational, evangelical Christian activity within the
University by
(i) representing evangelical Christianity on campus.
(ii) teaching and upholding evangelical Christian beliefs, including the
beliefs exemplified by the Doctrinal Basis.
(iii) encouraging and fostering interdenominational fellowship among
Christian students.
(iv) stimulating an interest in cross-cultural missionary work.
(v) stimulating personal faith in and love for the Lord Jesus Christ among
individual students.

(b) To be affiliated with the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students;
(c) To represent CCU members to the Curtin Student Guild.

The Doctrinal Basis of the Curtin Christian Union is
(a) The Divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given, and
its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
(b) The unity and equality in the Godhead of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(c) The universal sinfulness of human nature, rendering man subject to God’s
Judgement.
(d) The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and His birth by the virgin
Mary.
(e) Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the
sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the
incarnate Son of God.
(f) The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
(g) The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ
effective in the individual sinner, granting him repentance toward God and
Faith in Jesus Christ.
(h) The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the Believer.
(i) The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(j) The one, holy, universal Church which is the body of Christ and to which all
true believers belong.
